Joanna got off to a good start, scoring the first run in the bottom of the first inning, leading 1-0. Both teams went scoreless in the second inning, but Joanna added two more runs in the bottom of the third to extend their lead to 3-0. In the fifth inning, the Hornets managed to score one additional run, bringing the score to 4-0.
Klutch Collegiate fought back, scoring two runs at the top of the sixth inning to narrow the gap to 4-2. However, the Hornets responded decisively, scoring five runs in the bottom of the sixth to secure their lead with a final score of 9-3. A standout performance came from Cason Owens, who achieved three hits from four at-bats, scoring three runs. Wyatt McPherson contributed with two doubles and three runs batted in (RBIs), while Owen Pridgen recorded two hits and drove in two runs.
