Chilly Weather and Fog Expected in Newberry

Winter morning in Newberry with fog and sunlight

Newberry, December 3, 2025

Weather Wrap-Up for Newberry, SC: December 3, 2025

Good morning, Newberry! If you’re stepping outside today, you might want to grab that cozy jacket, as it’s a bit chilly out there. The day started off at about **45°F (7°C)** with mostly cloudy skies. As the sun rises and the day rolls on, let’s take a deeper look at what to expect!

Early Morning Fog

As we waited for the sun to peek through around 2:00 AM, our lovely little town experienced some fog, bringing temperatures down to **41°F (5°C)**. It was one of those mystical nights where you could barely see beyond your front porch! The fog hung around, making its presence known. At **3:00 AM**, it dipped even lower to **39°F (4°C)**, and by **5:00 AM**, we were at a brisk **36°F (2°C)**. It’s safe to say if you were out and about, you needed a warm drink in hand for sure!

The Fog Lifts

The fog finally started to clear up around **7:00 AM**, giving us mostly clear skies and a slight nudge up to **34°F (1°C)**. Fantastic news for those early morning walkers and joggers! Soon enough, by **8:00 AM**, the day transformed into a beautiful mixture of mostly sunny skies and a slightly warmer **35°F (2°C)**. The sun, after quite the snooze, was ready to shine!

Midday Sunshine and Warm-Up

As we move through the morning and into lunchtime, you can expect warm and cheerful weather. By **12:00 PM**, temperatures will climb to a pleasant **47°F (8°C)** with mostly sunny skies. And let’s not forget about that classic Southern hospitality—go ahead and enjoy your lunch outdoors if you can! By **1:00 PM**, it should be a comfortable **49°F (10°C)**, perfect for a stroll in the park or a quick catch-up with friends over coffee.

Historical Context

For a bit of perspective, historically, December 3 in Newberry has seen quite a range of weather conditions. Just last year, we had a high of **50°F (10°C)** with diminishing clouds, and the same month in 2022 offered slightly warmer days, reaching **52°F (11°C)**. On this very date in **1984**, however, the weather turned exceptionally severe with an F2 tornado striking our town—definitely a day we remember with respect. Thankfully, today looks pretty peaceful!

What’s Normal for December?

This month, we typically experience highs around **54°F (12.3°C)** with lows dipping to **33°F (0.8°C)**. The average temperature usually sits around **43.7°F (6.5°C)**, so today isn’t too far off from what we expect this time of year! Rainfall can also pop up, averaging about **3.9 inches (100 mm)**, with about ten rainy days throughout the month. Fortunately, it looks like we won’t add to that count today!

Final Thoughts

All in all, it seems like a delightful day ahead for Newberry! Cloudy mornings transitioning into warm sunshine—it’s the kind of weather that invites you to explore the outdoors and connect with your community. Remember to keep an eye out for that sunshine and enjoy every minute of it!

Stay warm, stay friendly, and as always, enjoy the lovely charm that our Newberry days have to offer!
