His teammate, Landon Tucker, also excelled in the event, securing third place with a time of 54.28 seconds. These achievements capped off a competitive season for the Wolves.
On May 5, 2025, at Eleazer Arena, Newberry College held its prestigious Wolfies event to recognize the hard work and dedication of its student-athletes during the 2024-25 season. The awards celebrated both athletic and academic successes in a gathering that brought together athletes, coaches, and families.
Among the award winners, Haidyn Campbell was named Female Newcomer of the Year for her contributions to the softball team, while Liam Vollans took home the Male Newcomer of the Year award for men’s lacrosse. The ceremony also highlighted outstanding individual performances, with Irma Watson-Perez winning Female Individual Performance of the Year in women’s track and field and Braden Tatum receiving the Male Individual Performance of the Year award for men’s wrestling. The top female and male athletes were recognized as Tamsin Bangert from field hockey and John Parker from men’s wrestling, respectively.

As the athletic year wound down, nearly 120 student-athletes graduated from Newberry College on May 17 at Setzler Field. Their academic accomplishments were recognized through prestigious awards such as the George B. Cromer Award for academic excellence, awarded to Rebecca Hartrick from the women’s triathlon team. Other notable awards included the Mary Mildred Sullivan Award for faith, hope, and charity, given to Stembile Chikoree of women’s field hockey, and the Dr. L Grady Cooper Award for loyalty and devotion, awarded to Alexa Anderson of women’s golf.
Academic achievement was also highlighted by the inclusion of five Newberry College Acrobatics & Tumbling student-athletes on the NCATA Academic Honor Roll, recognizing those who achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher. The honored athletes included StellaGrace Allen, Mikayla Conwell, Emma Pittser, Jaden France, and Hannah Ghaly.
