Nashua High School Sports Teams Push Through Challenges
NASHUA – As the high school fall sports teams in Nashua move closer to the end of their seasons, they are quickly recovering from recent setbacks caused by safety issues on their home field. The city has announced plans to replace the worn field, allowing the teams to focus on their games without distraction.
One standout player making waves this season is Nate Bowen, a sophomore quarterback at Bishop Guertin High School. Bowen has shown impressive skills on the field, leading his team to victories in thrilling fashion. Just last week, he clinched a nail-biter win against Nashua North in the final moments with an incredible pass. This past Saturday, he demonstrated his versatility by scoring a crucial touchdown with his feet against the Keene High Blackbirds during a game held at the beautiful Duane Stadium in Merrimack College.
In another highlight, Campbell High School’s Scott Hershberger is making history. In a convincing 34-14 win over Epping/Newmarket, he rushed for a remarkable 182 yards and scored three touchdowns. This strong performance has unofficially made him the school’s leading career rusher, a milestone that Campbell coach Glen Costello couldn’t be prouder of. The team now boasts an impressive record of 6-0, and Hershberger’s contributions have played a significant role in their success.
As the season progresses, Nashua’s high school athletes continue to showcase their talent and resilience, preparing for the upcoming challenges ahead.
