Meadowdale Volleyball Claims Victory Over Shorecrest
Meadowdale, WA – In an exciting match on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, the Meadowdale volleyball team secured a triumph against Shorecrest, winning in straight sets with a score of 3-0. The victory showcased the strong teamwork and skills of the Meadowdale girls.
Violet DuBois led the way for Meadowdale, contributing significantly to the win with a stellar performance that included 10 kills and 3 aces. Her aggressive play at the net was a key factor in the team’s success. Close behind her was Jackie Tang, who tallied 9 kills along with 2 aces, demonstrating her ability to score crucial points. Defensively, Andrea Rios shone brightly with an impressive 13 digs and added 3 aces to her statistics.
This win improved Meadowdale’s record to 2-7 in the league and 4-9 overall, while Shorecrest’s record dropped to 2-6 in the league and 2-11 overall. This match also marked a pivotal moment for the Meadowdale squad, boosting their confidence as they approach the rest of the season.
Looking ahead, Meadowdale will face Archbishop Murphy in their next match on Wednesday, October 23, at 7 p.m. at Meadowdale High School. The Archbishop Murphy team recently continued their strong season by defeating Mountlake Terrace 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-19), maintaining an impressive record of 10-0 in the league and 13-1 overall.
For Mountlake Terrace, standout players included Sarah Simula, who scored 6 kills, and Emmy Alley, who provided 6 assists among other contributions. The team now holds a league record of 1-7 and an overall record of 4-9, and they will also be back in action Wednesday, facing Edmonds-Woodway at 7 p.m. at Mountlake Terrace High School.
