Kaukauna Dominates in Regional Semifinals, Advances in Playoffs

High School Volleyball Regionals: Kaukauna and Appleton North Shine

KAUKAUNA – The Kaukauna Ghosts, ranked third in their section, had a dominant performance against the Appleton West Terrors, winning in straight sets of 25-13, 25-14, and 25-6 during the regional semifinals. This victory boosts Kaukauna’s record to 27 wins and 8 losses, while Appleton West wraps up their season with just 2 wins against 22 losses. Madison Tripp stood out with a double-double, contributing 15 assists and 10 digs. Delaney Ward shined with a team-leading 7 kills, followed by Keira Plate with 5 kills. Boe Kaschner added 5 digs to the team’s defensive efforts. Looking ahead, Kaukauna will face off against sixth-seeded Green Bay Southwest on Saturday.

APPLETON – In another regional semifinal, the Appleton North Lightning emerged victorious over the Hornets, winning in straight sets of 25-23, 25-15, and 25-14. This win improves the Lightning’s record to 17-20, while they will advance to the regional final where they will challenge the Xavier Hawks, who finished the match against the Jaguars with scores of 25-19, 25-20, and 25-18. Sydney Neilitz led Xavier with an impressive 29 assists. Madison Daley contributed 12 kills and Grace Hackl added 13 digs, leading the Hawks to a solid performance.

NEENAH – The Rockets also had a strong showing, sweeping the Golden Raiders with set scores of 25-12, 25-11, and 25-14 to advance to the Division 1 regional final. They will host Oshkosh West, who secured their place in the final by defeating Hartford 25-10, 25-21, and 26-24.

DE PERE – The Redbirds defeated the Patriots with scores of 25-18, 25-15, and 25-16, advancing to meet the Kimberly Papermakers in the regional final. De Pere’s current record is 16-20 while Appleton East finishes at 10-19.

As action continues this weekend, several teams, including Waupaca, Freedom, and Shawano, are set to compete for regional titles. Stay tuned for results as the postseason heats up!
