Oxford, CT – The high school soccer scene was buzzing with excitement on Friday as numerous teams took to the field showcasing their skills and competitive spirit.

In an impressive performance, Oxford defeated Ansonia with a score of 4 to 1. Key players like Kevin Monticone shined, scoring twice alongside Ryan Mizak and Gavin Shupp. The assists came from Lucas Arnold and Mason Czaplinski, while goalkeeper Marc Scalo made 4 saves to secure the victory. This win brings Oxford’s record to 7 wins, 4 losses, and 2 draws, leaving Ansonia with a record of 1 win, 8 losses, and 3 draws.

Another highlight of the day was RHAM‘s narrow victory over South Windsor, ending with a tight score of 1 to 0. Justin Dooley was the hero of the match, scoring the only goal.

Tolland had a fantastic game against East Hartford, dominating the field with a 6-1 win. Star player Graham Nagardeolekar scored twice, contributing significantly to Tolland’s successful evening, improving their record to 8 wins, 3 losses, and 2 draws.

Xavier displayed their strength in a blowout against Amity, winning decisively by a score of 7 to 1. Diego Canellas had a standout performance, netting three goals during the match.

On the girls’ side, Mercy defeated West Haven 8-2, with Molly Benson racking up 3 goals, and Laney Smith adding 4 of her own.

In the volleyball arena, Guilford marked a strong victory against North Haven with a score of 3-0, as Sam Alberghini showcased her talent with 21 kills.
