High School Football Playoffs Heat Up: Championship Showdowns and Thrilling Victories

Exciting High School Basketball Action Takes Place Across Western Pennsylvania

On Friday, December 6th, 2024, high school basketball fans in Pennsylvania were treated to a night full of thrilling games. Various tournaments showcased the talents of boys’ teams, with several schools competing for victory.

The Aquinas Academy tournament highlighted the night, where Aquinas Academy cruised to a convincing 84-53 win over Cheswick Christian. South Park also had a strong showing, taking down Propel Montour 80-50. Meanwhile, in the Baldwin/Peters Township tournament, Baldwin secured a solid win against Shaler with a score of 74-50, while Peters Township edged out Altoona 69-42.

The Brentwood tournament saw Brentwood narrowly defeat Freedom 57-45, and Carrick continued its winning ways against Geibel Catholic 81-59. At the Brownsville tournament, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart held off Albert Gallatin for a close 46-41 victory.

Teams also faced off in the Derry tournament, with Derry defeating Ligonier Valley 66-34 and Quaker Valley dominating the match against Laurel Highlands 65-29. In other matches, Fort Cherry’s tournament saw Monessen defeat Fort Cherry 65-50 and Jefferson-Morgan beat Union 51-43.

Looking ahead, Saturday is set to feature more action with exciting matchups. In the Aquinas Academy tournament, South Park faces off against Aquinas Academy in the championship round. The Baldwin/Peters Township tournament will see Altoona go up against Baldwin, while Peters Township will challenge Shaler.
