High School Sports Update: Dec. 2-7

This week in Bloomington high school sports had some exciting matchups across various teams. In girls’ basketball, the Bloomington South Panthers delivered a dominating performance against Terre Haute North, winning 70-24. The Panthers stormed out to a commanding **40-12 halftime** lead, leading to their impressive **7-1 record** in the season and **2-0 in Conference Indiana**.
In another girls’ basketball game, the Bloomington North Cougars showcased a strong team effort, leading to a significant victory against Columbus East with a score of **71-44**. The Cougars’ success came from not just one player, with Lulu Frank leading the team with **13 points**, while other notable contributions included Ava Robbennolt and Kate Lehr with **12 points** each.
On the boys’ side, the Owen Valley Patriots faced West Vigo but ended up losing **49-44**. Although they led at halftime, the Vikings managed to come back and take the win.
In wrestling, there were notable matches with both boys and girls competing. In boys’ wrestling, Terre Haute South overpowered Edgewood with a score of **61-18**. The girls’ wrestling team from Terre Haute also faced Edgewood, this time winning 36-24.
The week also highlighted the boys’ swimming team from Bloomington North, who beat East Central decisively with a score of **101-69**. First-place finishes were secured by Jay Stewart in the **50 free and 100 back**, among others.
