High School Sports Update: Playoff Push in Full Swing
Johnson City, TN – In the blink of an eye, the high school sports fall season is quickly routing towards postseason form. On Thursday, district tournament play kicked off in girls soccer and volleyball on the Tennessee side of the state line.
The Science Hill girls’ soccer team proved once again that they are a force to be reckoned with, easily defeating Dobyns-Bennett 6-1 to claim the title of District 1 AAA champions. This victory showcases their hard work and determination throughout the season, solidifying their spot as top contenders in the upcoming playoffs.
Meanwhile, in the volleyball arena, both the Dobyns-Bennett and Daniel Boone teams turned in impressive performances to advance to the semifinal round next week. Daniel Boone battled through against West Ridge, finishing strong with a score of 3-1. In a similar show of strength, Dobyns-Bennett took care of business against David Crockett, also winning 3-1, ensuring their continued push toward a championship.
Shifting our focus across the state line to Virginia, the Ridgeview Wolfpack maintained their unbeaten record this season by dominating John Battle with a clean sweep of 3-0 in the Mountain 7 competition. Their consistent performance throughout the season has positioned them as one of the top teams in the league.
