In the Minneapolis City boys’ basketball showdown, Camden narrowly defeated Southwest with a score of 79-78, while South edged out North in another nail-biter, finishing at 85-84. Both games kept fans on the edge of their seats, demonstrating the competitive spirit of these young athletes.

In the Northwest Suburban boys’ action, Centennial came out on top against Elk River, winning 53-47. As the season progresses, every win counts, and teams are gearing up for the playoffs.

The girls’ basketball scene was just as exhilarating. In the Metro East, Mahtomedi dominated Simley with a commanding score of 75-30. Meanwhile, Centennial found themselves victorious over Elk River, with a closer score of 72-66.

From the Metropolitan Area, it was a strong performance by Benilde-St. Margaret’s as they defeated Hill-Murray 77-66. The competition is heating up as teams make their final push before playoffs.

In gymnastics, Highland Park showed impressive strength as they scored 124.0 against Johnson’s 86.575. Ellie Pavlis had a standout performance in the all-around competition, scoring 33.00.

On the ice, the girls’ hockey matchup between Lakeville North and Apple Valley ended with a 5-2 victory for Lakeville North. Meanwhile, Roseville and Mahtomedi fought hard to a 1-1 tie against White Bear Lake after overtime.

In wrestling, Humboldt emerged victorious with a score of 45-29 over Washington, showcasing their grappling skills and determination.

The excitement of local sports continues, and the games are just getting better. Fans and players alike should mark their calendars for upcoming matches, including a highly anticipated game featuring two top-ranked Class 2A teams scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday.
