High School Football Roundup: Jackson and Mountlake Terrace Claim Victories

High School Sports Roundup: Close Calls and Big Wins in Edmonds

This past Sunday, December 8, was an exciting day for high school basketball teams in Edmonds. In a nail-biting finish, Jackson High School edged out Meadowdale with a close score of 59-56. Seamus Williams led Jackson with impressive stats, scoring 17 points, dishing out seven assists, and grabbing five rebounds. On the other hand, Meadowdale’s top scorer Natnael Ghirmay put up 18 points to keep his team competitive. This loss leaves both teams at 1-1 for the season. Meadowdale will look to bounce back against Monroe on Tuesday, December 10, at 7:15 p.m. at Meadowdale High School.

In another game, Mountlake Terrace showcased a strong performance against Lynnwood, winning 70-33. The scoring broke down beautifully for Mountlake with contributions from several players: Svayjeet Singh led with 12 points, closely followed by Rayshaun Connor and Brody Myers-Little who both scored 11 points each. This win boosts Mountlake Terrace’s overall record to 2-0, and they will face Arlington on Tuesday, December 10, at the same 7:15 p.m. time.

On the girls’ side, Edmonds-Woodway emerged victorious against Bishop Blanchet with a score of 64-39. Cameron Hiatt led her team with 17 points, helping Edmonds-Woodway maintain their perfect record at 2-0. They will face off against Kamiak next, also on December 10, at 7:15 p.m. at Edmonds-Woodway High School. Meanwhile, Mountlake Terrace girls held on to defeat Lynnwood in a close match, 55-53, with Jaliyah Dyson scoring the game-high 15 points.
