NEWBERRY, S.C. — Newberry police took two more men into custody Thursday morning, Oct. 29, in connection with the gunfire that broke out at a block party on Wise Street earlier this month.
The Newberry Police Department, which is leading the investigation, identified them as Zymere Jabarri Williams and Quentin Devon Johnson Jr. and said the men are 18 and 20 years old. Each faces three aggravated assault and battery counts, plus charges of having a weapon during a violent crime and aggravated breach of peace. Williams is also charged with firing into a home, and Johnson faces two counts of firing into a vehicle.

The shooting happened early on Saturday, Oct. 17. Detectives with the city department are still working the case and are asking residents who know anything about that night to come forward.
