Newberry will host the Shake ‘Em on Down Tour, featuring Grammy-nominated guitarist and singer Samantha Fish, at the Newberry Opera House on December 10. The tour, curated by Fish, brings together three distinct approaches to blues music for a series of U.S. dates in December 2026.
Fish, known for expanding her sound to include rock, soul, and roots while maintaining her blues foundation, will headline the event. She has received two Grammy nominations throughout her career.
Joining Fish on the tour is Grammy-winning musician Cedric Burnside, a prominent figure in North Mississippi Hill Country blues. Burnside, the grandson of blues icon R.L. Burnside, has established his own career as a guitarist, drummer, singer, and songwriter, continuing his family’s musical legacy.
The lineup also includes Brooklyn-based Daddy Long Legs, a band that blends blues with garage rock, punk, and vintage country-blues. Their sound is characterized by a raw, stripped-down style with a strong emphasis on harmonica. The group describes itself as New York City’s diabolical rhythm and blues street gang.
The 14-date tour begins on December 2 at Vinyl Music Hall in Pensacola, Florida, and concludes on December 20 at Mercury Ballroom in Louisville, Kentucky. The Southeast leg of the tour includes stops in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, and Kentucky.
The Newberry Opera House performance is one of two South Carolina dates, with another scheduled for December 18 at the Walhalla PAC in Walhalla.
