CHESTER, S.C. — The Newberry Bulldogs hit the road Friday night, Oct. 23, for a conference game at Chester, with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m.
Newberry comes in at 3-5 overall after a 28-16 setback against Keenan last week. That defeat was the first region loss of the year for the Bulldogs and moved their league mark to 2-1, so a win in Chester would keep them in the region race.
Keenan leaned on a balanced attack in that game. Hunter O’Neal ran for two touchdowns and Marcus Simpson Jr. finished with 142 receiving yards.
Chester enters the night at 4-4, which makes this a matchup of two teams trying to climb above .500 as the regular season winds down. The game is listed as an away conference date for Newberry.
Elsewhere in Newberry County on Friday, Whitmire plays Batesburg-Leesville at 7:30 p.m., while unbeaten Mid-Carolina is 8-0 this season.
