The No. 17 South Carolina women’s soccer team achieved its ninth consecutive victory on Sunday afternoon in Columbia, defeating Missouri 3-0. This win extends their perfect run in SEC play and marks their longest winning streak since the 2017 season, also representing the longest active streak in Division I.
Kinley Brown, a fifth-year player, scored South Carolina’s first goal in the 41st minute, assisted by freshman Wynn Generally, putting the team ahead 1-0. Senior Reagan Schubach increased the lead to 2-0 in the 70th minute with a header, assisted by fifth-year Micah Bryant and senior Reese Slater. This was Schubach’s second goal of the season. Senior Autumn Cayelli then scored a solo goal in the 79th minute, her second of the season, to finalize the 3-0 score.
South Carolina demonstrated strong offensive play, outshooting Missouri 16-5 and earning six corner kicks compared to Missouri’s two. The Gamecocks are scheduled to play Mississippi State on Friday, October 2, in Starkville, Mississippi.
