Richland County Recognizes Blue Apple Battle Day
The local nonprofit Blue Apple Battle, founded in Columbia, held its inaugural event on Saturday, receiving an official proclamation from the Richland County government. The nonprofit focuses on educating youth about substances and prevention of their use and abuse.
The event offered an interactive learning experience through a day of live-action team competitions. Participants engaged in dodgeball games and Nerf gun competitions against Columbia police officers, Columbia-Richland firefighters, and substance abuse prevention professionals.

Richland County Council member Allison Terracio presented the proclamation, which recognized Blue Apple Battle as it launched in the community. Terracio stated that September 26 is recognized as Blue Apple Battle Day.
