SouthState Bank Supports Educational Opportunities Across South Carolina
SouthState Bank has announced a three-year commitment to the University of South Carolina’s Darla Moore School of Business. This partnership aims to expand educational opportunities and prepare students across South Carolina for future academic and professional success.
The annual support from SouthState Bank will benefit student access, academic enrichment, career readiness, and student success pipeline programs. These initiatives are administered through the Moore School’s Office of Access, Opportunity, and Community Engagement. Specific programs that will receive support include Power Forward, Rising Scholars, and Moore Launch Pad.
Montague Laffitte, Division President of SouthState Bank, stated that strong communities begin with opportunity and expressed pride in supporting programs that create opportunities for future leaders. LeDon Jones, Director of Corporate Stewardship at SouthState Bank, added that the partnership reflects a long-term commitment to developing future talent and strengthening local communities.
Students participating in these programs will gain opportunities to learn from Moore School faculty, current college students, alumni, and business professionals. This learning occurs through mentorship, campus visits, academic enrichment, leadership development, networking, and exposure to various industries. SouthState Bank’s support will help cover associated costs, including educational materials, transportation, meals, student engagement activities, and experiential learning opportunities.
